Job Title: Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Senior

Location: Toronto ON

Work Model: Onsite

Duration: 5 months

Extension: 1 Time

Must Haves

- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Systems Testing/QA Specialist in enterprise-level IT projects.
- Strong experience in developing Test Strategies, Test Plans, and writing detailed Test Cases aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Agile Scrum methodologies and sprint-based development cycles.
- Proficient in using Azure DevOps or similar tools for sprint management, bug tracking, and test case management.
- Strong background in developing and executing automated tests using Selenium or equivalent frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience in all phases of system testing including functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Extensive experience in testing workflow-driven applications, with a focus on solutions developed using IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW).
- Skilled in API testing using REST and SOAP, including validation of request/response formats, authentication, and error handling.
- Experienced in backend database testing, including PL/SQL jobs, data integrity, and performance validation.
- Proficient in writing and executing PL/SQL queries for test verification and analysis.
- Experience in migration-based projects, including: Validation of data mapping and transformation rules. Pre- and post-migration data integrity checks. Verification of business rule continuity and functional equivalence.
- Experience in doing AODA testing for WebUI and Documents
- Hands-on experience conducting security and access control testing to validate user permissions, data protection, and system authentication mechanisms.
- Experience testing OpenText Content Management Systems, with a focus on validating metadata accuracy, document workflows, version control,



and access permissions.

Description / Responsibilities / Skills

Description

- The resource may be partially assigned to Bill 5 related projects or initiatives on an as needed basis.
- Project supports MPI initiative by enriching permission-related documents in OPSDocs with necessary metadata.

- Phase 1: Apply approximately 23 current metadata fields to documents and sub-folders created after implementation date.
- Phase 1 includes aligning PEP OPSDocs folder structures with the new MECP CIS model.
- Phase II: Apply the same 23 metadata fields to historical documents already existing in PEP OPSDocs.

Responsibilities

- QA Specialist ensures reliability, performance, and security of IT systems.
- Provides expert guidance on testing strategies, tools, and resource planning.
- Leads execution of comprehensive testing efforts across both GUI and non-GUI environments.

Deliverables

- Validation of data mapping and transformation rules.

Experience & Skill Set Requirements

QA Skills - 40%

- Skilled in Agile testing, SDLC, and QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Skilled in Test Case Execution, Defect Triaging, and Defect Logging.
- Well-versed in documenting UAT artifacts including test cases, execution results, and findings.
- Experienced in AODA and WCAG compliance testing for web applications and documents.
- Experience testing content management system such as opentext.

Automation Testing - 15%





- Experienced in planning and developing automated test cases based on business and technical specs.
- Skilled in creating, executing, and analyzing automation scripts using Selenium and related tools.
- Proficient in integrating automation tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Applied automation techniques to enhance test coverage and efficiency

Technical Skills - 20%

- Strong understanding of object-oriented testing and reusable test case design.
- Experience testing workflow based applications, including IBM BAW and/or BPM 8.6.
- Skilled in writing SQL queries
- Proficient in Azure DevOps for test management and reporting.
- Experience in migration-based projects, including: Validation of data mapping and transformation rules.
- Pre- and post-migration data integrity checks.
- Verification of business rule continuity and functional equivalence.

Defect Management - 15%

- Experienced in managing the full defect lifecycle: logging, triaging, tracking, and resolution.
- Skilled in identifying, tracing, isolating, and replicating defects; conducting root cause analysis.
- Proficient in using tools like Azure DevOps, Rational, or similar for defect tracking.
- Coordinated defect review meetings and created defect summary reports for stakeholders
- Experience managing defect reporting and resolution throughout the defect lifecycle, including coordination with UAT leads.

Communication Skills - 10%

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented team player with ability to work under pressure.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, requirement walkthroughs, and UAT coordination.
- Capable of clearly articulating technical findings to diverse audiences.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with proficiency in English (verbal and written).
