Overview

Join our dynamic construction team as a Traffic Control Person (Contract) and play a vital role in ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow at construction sites. This energetic position involves directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting construction operations. Your proactive approach will help create a secure environment for workers, visitors, and the public while contributing to successful project completion.

Responsibilities

- Set up and maintain traffic control devices such as signs, cones, barriers, and flagging equipment to guide vehicles and pedestrians effectively.
- Direct traffic around construction zones to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Communicate clearly with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to provide instructions and updates.
- Monitor work zones continuously for hazards or unsafe conditions, taking immediate corrective action when necessary.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of traffic control areas at the start and end of shifts.
- Maintain detailed records of traffic flow, incidents, and safety checks throughout each shift.
- Support the enforcement of safety policies by educating workers and visitors about site protocols.

Requirements





- Prior experience in construction or traffic control is highly preferred; familiarity with paving or heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Ability to operate basic traffic control equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and the public.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods in outdoor environments.
- Knowledge of construction site safety standards and traffic management procedures.
- Certification in traffic control or flagging (preferred but not mandatory; training available).
- A proactive attitude with keen attention to detail to identify potential hazards early.
