About the Role

Join our team as a Transit Operator, where you'll be the vital link connecting communities through protected, reliable, and friendly transportation. You'll deliver demand response and fixed route service across Muskoka, safely transporting passengers, including individuals using mobility devices, on a adaptable, scheduled route system. Your commitment to safety, professionalism, and genuine care for riders will help make every trip a positive experience.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate accessible transit vehicles on scheduled demand response and fixed routes
- Assist passengers with boarding, alighting, and mobility device securement
- Follow all scheduling, dispatch, and routing instructions
- Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any incidents or emergencies during transit operations




- Maintain accurate trip records, passenger counts, and vehicle maintenance checks
- Provide courteous, skilled customer service to all passengers
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies
- Clean and tidy the vehicle at the end of each shift

Requirements
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence
- Clean driver's abstract
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with wheelchair/mobility device securement (Q'Straint or similar) preferred
- Previous commercial driving or transportation experience is an asset but not required
- Robust communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
- Ability to stay alert and focused for extended periods
- Ability to pass a vulnerable sector background check
