Our client, an employee-owned engineering and planning company, is seeking a Transportation/Highway Engineer out of their Mississauga office. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid flexible role, paying $90-120k, along with a competitive vacation and benefits package. This role allows you to use your technical expertise to plan, design, and oversee transportation network projects within a collaborative and dynamic design team.

You will coordinate with clients, manage projects, and mentor junior staff while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

- Manage the preliminary and detailed designs and oversee the construction administration associated with highway design projects for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
- Lead local and regional teams in the preparation and submission of expressions of interest and proposals to source new highway design projects.
- Supervise other designers and technical support staff engaged in the design of highways.
- Assisting with the training, mentoring, assessing and recruiting of staff; and
- Liaise with clients, sub-consultants, contractors and construction supervision staff.

Qualifications:
- Qualified Engineer (P.Eng.)



licensed in Ontario with a minimum of 8 years of relevant design experience, with focus on MTO projects.
- Established reputation and professional relationships with MTO and Ontario municipalities.
- Experience in planning, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction administration of new or rehabilitated divided highways, arterial, and collector roads.
- Proficiency with Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS) and drawings (OPSD), TAC and MTO design standards, specifications, policies, Highway Costing System (HiCo), and Contract Preparation System (CPS).
- Experience meeting requirements for MTO RAQS registration as Key Personnel is an asset.
- Independent, organized, and motivated team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects.
