GGC is actively recruiting for a Travel Coordinator Contract until August 2027
- Remote work arrangement.
About This Opportunity The Travel Coordinator plays a key reconciling financial reports and ensuring compliance with organizational financial policies and legal requirement for girl-focused travel in Ontario. The Travel Coordinator is responsible providing support to volunteers across the country, regarding financial processes for travel.
In This Role You Will
Position Specific
- Review and reconcile financial documents associated with ON Council independent trips, including, but not limited to, identification of taxes that must be collected and refunds of personal payment.
- Ensure Trip Unit Treasurer’s follow the GGC’s financial guidelines and processes. Report any financial anomalies that are determined during the finance reconciliation process to the appropriate volunteer or/and staff.
- Provide support with the tracking and monitoring of trip unit documents.
- Respond to volunteer inquiries related to trip finances throughout the various stages of the trip planning process, as needed.
- Meet with various individuals and/or groups within the provincial Guiding community to provide guidance on trips.
- Liaise with Trip Treasurers to ensure they understand established policies and practices for allocating and verifying transactions in their unit’s unified banking account
- Provide timely and appropriate support to inquiries about organizational travel processes.
- Prioritize tasks to effectively respond to a wide variety of potential trip logistical issues.
- Apply organizational policies regarding diversity, inclusivity and equity to content, member communication and customer service.
- Adhere to established service standards for response times.
General
- Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
- Liaise with other teams as required.
- Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.
- Other duties as assigned.
You Should Apply If You Have The Following Education, Designations and Certifications
- Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Prior Work Experience
- 1-2 experience supporting front-line staff or volunteers in the areas of financial management, accounting or bookkeeping
- Familiarity with providing support to a volunteer-led organization
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Knowledge/understanding of standard bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Strong working understanding of Excel as used for bookkeeping
- Financial aptitude with strong communication skills (verbal, written and is an active listener).
- Excellent organizational skills and highly detail oriented.
- Flexibility/Adaptability and a strong team player.
- Customer Service Orientation.
