Almonte Veterinary Services is looking to add a full-time Veterinary Assistant to our team. We are a privately owned practice and located just 15 minutes west of Kanata. We operate as a mixed animal practice & provide endless opportunities for you to use your skills to the fullest. The ideal candidate would fill the vet assistant role & help in reception as needed – new grads welcome, experience an asset but not required!

We are looking for someone who is passionate about what they do, great at multitasking, & has strong communication skills. You will be provided the prospect to work with many different species (mainly dogs & cats with a small mixture of cows, chickens, goats, pigs, etc.).

Hours would average 40 hours a week; working Tuesday to Friday and half days on Saturdays (8:30am-1:30pm).

Daily tasks would include but are not limited to:

- Helping veterinarians & technicians with appointments (restraints, drawing up vaccines, cleaning exam rooms between appointment, etc.)




- Help with preparation of surgery animals & surgery suite
- Cleaning, wrapping & autoclaving surgical packs
- Feeding in clinic cats & dogs, cleaning kennel areas as needed
- Stocking treatment areas & exam rooms
- Overall cleanliness of the clinic

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
