Clocks and Colours

Toronto

Video Editor (Part Time)About Us

Clocks and Colours is a premium jewellery and apparel brand inspired equally by aggressive music and action sports as well as classic rock and roll designer brands. We have a flagship in Toronto, a loyal community, and we are expanding into the US.

We are founder led and going through a real moment. The founder is stepping back into the CEO seat alongside his role as Creative Director, and we are rebuilding the creative team around him so the work is driven by a strong team and solid systems, not by one person holding every thread. Video is one of the biggest bets in that rebuild. This role is the whole of it.

The Role

Video Editor is the cutting room. You take everything we shoot and turn it into a steady volume of video that actually performs on the platforms our community lives on.

This is a social first editing job. Not one hero edit resized four ways. A lot of distinct cuts, tested, iterated, and moving at the speed social actually moves. You will get direction and a deadline. You will not get supervision.

We are hiring this as three days a week because we would rather have a specialist for three days than a generalist for five. The person who fits treats knowing what is working on TikTok, Reels and Shorts as part of the job, not a hobby, and can tell us why a cut lands rather than just that it does.

What You'll Own

Social editing. The bulk of the role. Cut short form video for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and every channel we run. Produce multiple distinct edits from the same footage rather than one edit reformatted. Match pacing, structure, text treatment and sound to what is working on each platform right now. Turn work around fast enough to react to what is happening, not just to what was planned. Bring format ideas forward instead of waiting for a brief.

Paid and performance.

Cut ad creative and cutdowns for paid social. Build variant sets for testing, different hooks, lengths and endings pulled from one shoot. Work from the performance data and push harder on what wins.

Web and product video. Cut video for web banners, PDP pages and campaign landing pages, to spec and on the launch calendar.

Capture. Shoot lo fi social content in office, at the store and at events. Support the videographer on shoot days.

Post and library. Own the back end so nobody else has to think about it. Offload, organise, back up and create proxies for all footage. Keep Premiere projects and media organised so anyone can find anything. Maintain a searchable library of footage and finished assets. Handle sound, music licensing and captioning.

Who You'll Work With The Senior Art Director, who directs the work and who you report to. A videographer shooting one day a week. An Art Director on graphic and campaign work. Our Social and Community Lead, who knows what the audience responds to. Our photographer. It is a small creative team and you will be one of the loudest voices in it.

What We're Looking For

- Your reel shows range across formats and platforms, not one house style on repeat.
- You produce volume. This role makes a lot of cuts and we want to see evidence you can.
- You are current on social video. You can name what is working this month and explain why it works.
- You are fluent in Premiere.

After Effects and motion graphics are a strong plus.
- You are comfortable behind a camera, not just at a desk.
- You are self directed. You take a brief and land it without anyone checking on you.
- You have taste that fits ours. Look at what we make. If it does not move you, this is not your job.
- You are direct, real, and not a corporate suit.

The Opportunity We are also hiring a videographer for one day a week. If you are genuinely strong at both shooting and editing, tell us, because we would rather build one bigger role around the right person than split it across two.

Beyond that, this is a small team investing seriously in video for the first time. The person in this seat gets to define what our video actually looks like. That is not a small thing to be handed.

What This Isn't

We would rather be clear now than waste your time.

You will not be managing budgets, booking crew, drafting creator contracts or running production logistics. That sits elsewhere on purpose, so the person editing can actually edit. If you are looking for a producer role, this is not it.

Practical

- Part time, three days per week. In office Tuesday to Thursday.
- Reports to the Senior Art Director.
- [Location: Toronto]
- [Compensation: TBD]

How to Apply A reel or portfolio is required. Anyone editing at this level should already have one ready to send, so if putting it together is the thing standing between you and applying, this probably is not the right role.

Send us

- Your reel or portfolio.
- Two or three short form pieces you personally cut, with a sentence on each about why that cut works.
- A short note on what you think we are doing well on social and what you would change.
- We read the last one first. Applications without a reel will not be reviewed.
