Volunteer Firefighter

Community Services departmentOrangeville Fire Services Position description The Orangeville Fire Services Division is seeking dedicated individuals to join the team as Volunteer Firefighters.

Orangeville Fire’s mission is to protect life, property and the environment in Orangeville and the surrounding area, through education, prevention, training, rescue, fire suppression and pre-hospital care support services.

Fire responds to emergencies in the Town of Orangeville, Town of Mono, East Garafraxa and Amaranth Townships.

To apply to be a Volunteer Firefighter, individuals must have attended one of the Volunteer Fire Recruitment information sessions, hosted at the Orangeville Fire Hall on either September 10 or September 15. If you are attending a session and want to apply for this job, please apply after you have attended the open house.

Qualifications Eighteen (18) years of age

Valid First Aid and CPR (upon hire)

Secondary School diploma

Able to pass a physical and medical screening to carry out the duties of this position

Valid Class G driver’s licence in good standing, minimum

Able to obtain a DZ licence within one (1) year of hire Preference will be given to individuals who reside within the County of Dufferin and a 3 km radius from the Orangeville Fire Station.

Hourly rate: $22.32 (2026 Volunteer Firefighter recruitment rate) Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, including but not limited to a Vulnerable Sector Check in accordance with the duties of this position. Qualified candidates are invited to apply no later than 4 p.m. on September 28, 2026.
