Wayfinders is seeking a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher to join our growing, nature‑rooted learning community at Meadowstone Farm. This is not a conventional assistant role—it is an invitation to help cultivate a living, breathing early childhood environment grounded in Waldorf principles, seasonal rhythms, imaginative play, and the richness of land‑based learning.
Accommodation is available for teachers who wish to relocate to Salt Spring Island.
About the Role
- Support a mixed‑age kindergarten class of ~16–20 children (ages 4–6)
- Work closely alongside a Lead Kindergarten Teacher with over 30 years of experience in Waldorf early learning.
- Help guide indoor and outdoor kindergarten activities including:
- circle
- storytelling
- practical work
- handcrafts
- baking
- gardening
- imaginative play
- Assist in creating and maintaining a calm, beautiful, rhythmical kindergarten environment
- Support children socially, emotionally, and practically throughout the day
- Participate in a Waldorf‑inspired early childhood program deeply connected to nature, farm life, and seasonal rhythms
