As a 309-A electrician specializing large-scale new construction projects within the ICI (industrial, commercial, institutional) sectors, your primary responsibility is completing electrical installations for projects such as retirement facilities, nursing homes, mid-rise and high-rise buildings, factories, and schools.
Projects can vary from months to years, depending on the scale, focusing on new construction and significant renovations. To learn more about our company and explore our portfolio of some of our projects, please visit our website at Install wiring, conduits, raceways, cables, light fixtures, switches, receptacles, smoke detectors, brackets, boxes and other electrical components Install/connect mechanical systems, fire alarms, nurse calls, emergency lighting and generators, etc. Install according to project documentation such as specifications, contracts and written scopes of work Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines and best practices to minimize and eliminate the risk of accidents and ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others Monitor material quantities and order through appropriate channels Comply with all company policies, including no performing electrical work outside of Kraun Electric 309-A Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) License in Good Standing with Skilled Trades Ontario ~ Proven experience as an electrician in new & existing industrial, commercial and/or institutional sectors In-depth knowledge of electrical systems such as power distribution, fire alarm,
generators, control lighting Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent knowledge and comprehension of Electrical Safety Authority code, building code, and other related codes Able to speak English Able to read electrical drawings, specifications and related equipment instruction manuals Outdoor Work: You will be required to work outdoors, where you will be exposed to various weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
Lifting and Carrying: The position will require lifting, carrying, and pulling heavy items and equipment weighing over 50 pounds, such as conduit, wiring, tools, and machinery. Electricians may need to navigate and work on uneven terrain, including construction sites, unfinished buildings, and outdoor landscapes.
Noise and Vibrations: The work environment will involve exposure to loud noises from machinery and equipment and vibrations from power tools and heavy machinery.
Safety Gear: Compliance with safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots is mandatory.
Flexible Schedule: Depending on project deadlines and client requirements, the job may require working evenings, weekends, or overtime. Collaboration with other individuals, including team members, contractors, and project managers, is essential and requires effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Travel: Some projects may require travel to different job sites, which may involve longer drives. Compliance with local building codes, electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards is mandatory.
