Matrix HR is hiring experienced Welder-Fitters for a major shipbuilding project in the Quebec City area. This opportunity is suited to welders outside Quebec who have robust FCAW experience, current CWB 47.1-M certification, and the ability to complete the required federal security-clearance process.

You will complete structural welding and fit-up work in a safety-focused production environment. Matrix HR will support selected candidates through mobilization and the Reliability Status clearance process.

- Base pay of $34.64 per hour.

What You Will Do

- Complete FCAW welding, fitting, cutting, layout, forming, and assembly work from drawings and specifications.

- Fit, align, straighten, and secure steel components before welding.

- Set up and maintain welding equipment; replace electrode wire and use welding, cutting, grinding, and measuring tools safely.

- Carry out leak tests, apply joints, and work with patterns, jigs, and profiling equipment when required.

- Inspect completed work and meet site quality, safety, security,



and environmental requirements.

What You Need

- Current CWB 47.1-M certification.

- Proven FCAW welding experience.

- Previous Welder-Fitter, Structural Welder, Shipfitter, Fabricator, shipbuilding, marine repair, structural steel, or heavy industrial experience.

- Ability to read blueprints, understand welding symbols, and complete accurate fit-up work.

- Eligibility for Reliability Status security clearance. Candidates must have lived continuously in Canada for at least five years, with no interruption longer than six consecutive months.

- Willingness to travel to Quebec and work the 21 days on / 7 days off rotation.

- Legal entitlement to work in Canada.
