Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supervisor to lead our transportation operations. In this role, you will oversee daily dispatch activities, coordinate freight movement, and manage a team of drivers and support staff. Your leadership will ensure smooth logistics processes, efficient communication, and exceptional service delivery across our supply chain network.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the scheduling and routing of freight using transportation management systems (TMS) to optimize delivery efficiency
- Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate data entry into systems like AS400 and SyteLine
- Monitor freight movements, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions to maintain timely deliveries
- Manage communication with drivers, clients, and third-party logistics providers (3PL) via multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette
- Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, shipping standards, and company policies
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, dispatch logs, and incident reports for audit purposes
Qualifications
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), AS400, and SyteLine is highly preferred
- Robust understanding of supply chain logistics, freight operations, and 3PL partnerships
- Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and clear verbal/written skills
- Proficient in data entry, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Strong analysis skills to interpret operational data and implement improvements
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures, including freight handling best practices
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high levels of organization and attention to detail
