Position # : V44171 Expected Start Date: September 21, 2026 Union: HSAS Facility: Population and Public Health - Regina City/Town: Regina Department: Community Recovery Services Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: March 05, 2027 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Field hours Number of Hours per Rotation: 112 hours per 3 weeks; 8 hours shift Relief: No Float: No Hours of Work: Field hours Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Addictions Counsellor - Degree $34.509 to $42.199 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: As a member of the Community Recovery Services and under the general direction of the Manager of CRS the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of youth, young adults and adults with severe and persistent mental illness, seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues.

Responsibilities include assessment & screening, individual & group counseling, case management & educational sessions. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience 1 yr exp working with a concurrent disorder population in a community setting.



Education Degree in Addiction Counseling or another Degree acceptable to the Employer or Bachelor of Chemical Dependency or Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSocSC) Knowledge and Abilities Robust organizational skills with ability to prioritize urgent client needs Knowledge of Sask Model of Recovery Services and motivational assessment process Knowledge in development model of recovery (SMRS) Ability to provide individual, group and crisis management counselling skills Knowledge of how addictions impacts the individual, community and families Familiarity with community programs/resources required for psycho-social rehab Promote healthy lifestyles in urban & rural settings with diverse populations Knowledge of community outpatient and inpatient service delivery systems Strong interpersonal skills Ability to accurately assess addictions and make appropriate recovery plans Other Information For more information on the city of Regina please visit https://www.regina.ca/
