Support student journeys as an Appeals Specialist at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Engage with diverse communities and enhance the petitions process while promoting equity.

In this role, you will work alongside the Assistant Registrar to address and review a variety of student petitions, providing key advice on academic policies and procedures. You’ll facilitate communication with instructors and academic departments to ensure timely resolutions, and your contributions will help remove barriers for students in their academic pursuits. Your experience will be vital in creating a supportive environment fostering diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:



• Advise students on appeals and alternatives • Craft exact documents and correspondence • Formulate and assess petitions for special consideration • Lead engagement seminars for students and staff • Direct casual staff in the petitions process

Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience • At least four years in a post-secondary advising role • Strong understanding of FIPPA laws • Familiarity with student information systems • Proven organizational and multitasking abilities
