The candidate will be responsible for reviewing benchmarking data and tracking plant and system operational parameters to troubleshoot issues and monitor treatment system performance.

The candidate will be responsible for providing advice and recommendations to implement new equipment, procedures, or process modifications as requested by management.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring quality assurance activities that monitor program effectiveness and support continuous improvement efforts within the Branch.

The candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and management of standard operating procedures, operations manuals, methods, and policies.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and supporting research and innovation partnerships with academic and research agencies.

The candidate will be responsible for overseeing engineering and asset management consultants and managing feasibility and functional studies and projects related to water infrastructure.





The candidate will proactively develop and maintain relationships with Operators, internal teams, external stakeholders, and government agencies to support service delivery and address environmental concerns.

The candidate will be responsible for performing other duties as assigned in accordance with Branch and Department objectives.

Job Requirements

The candidate must have successfully completed a University Degree in Civil, Mechanical,or Chemical Engineering.

The candidate must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario.

The candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience, including E.I.T. experience, in the approvals, design, construction, and operating processes of municipal water and wastewater collection, distribution, and treatment systems, along with project management experience.

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.

The candidate must have knowledge of municipal water and wastewater treatment, collection, and distribution system management and operational techniques, including complex hydraulic systems such as pumping, piping, and valving.

The candidate must have an understanding of budgeting processes, strategic planning, program development, and implementation techniques.





The candidate must demonstrate knowledge and ability in corporate core competencies, including communication, innovation, teamwork and collaboration, and personal ownership.

The candidate must demonstrate report writing and project management skills to achieve program objectives and meet tight deadlines.

The candidate must demonstrate leadership skills to coordinate project teams and the ability to work effectively, independently, and cooperatively within a team workplace.

Work conditions

The candidate will be required to work 37.5 scheduled hours per week.

The candidate will be required to work scheduled shifts from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
