This means working closely with our emergency doctors to provide same‑day ultrasound scans for pets when they need it most. You'll deal with a variety of patient types and scans, so being comfortable adapting to new scenarios and willing to learn recent techniques and think outside the box are all part of your day‑to‑day. You'll also assist in coordinating education opportunities and overall ultrasound training for your home and regional hospitals, inspire and motivate your fellow VEGgies to grow their ultrasound skills, and be ready to pitch in at the hospital whenever and wherever needed.WHAT YOU'LL DOPerform ultrasound studies and facilitate ultrasound training at your home hospital and regional hospitalsMaintain good relationships with and accept feedback from teleconsultation radiologists reading your studies (e.G., Antech, SonoPath, IDEXX, VetsChoice, etc.)Ensure all training content and activities are in alignment with VEG culture, mission, and vision, and represent accurate,



up‑to‑date sonographic techniquesTrack doctor and nursing team skills with a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklistEngage in self‑reflection and program evaluation practices to modify and enhance VEG's ultrasound training programsRegularly meet with the medical directors, nursing trainer, and director of radiology education to discuss program development, training objectives, and additional needsRegularly meet with the hospital manager and medical director to discuss implementation of new training protocols, training schedules, hospital training needs, and interpersonal concernsCoordinate weekly schedule to work on the floor shifts with the hospital manager and medical director and dedicate time to training responsibilitiesMay assist in developing ultrasound curriculum material, such as PowerPoints, videos, simulations, and assessments to be implemented across the doctor and nursing team training programsMay provide educational demonstrations for doctors and support staff at other VEGs, including ultrasound topics such as abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, cervical, and musculoskeletal studiesWHAT YOU NEEDCredentialed as a veterinary technician (RVT), diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS), and/or equivalent experience (e.G., sonographer course certificates)3+ years of veterinary ultrasound experiencePatience to train and develop doctors, support staff, and fellow sonographersPrevious experience in a training roleComfortable mentoring others and giving/receiving feedback from colleaguesA positive and friendly personalityAbility to adapt to changing environments; a team playerLove working with animals and peopleExcellent communication skills with peers, customers, and VEGgiesEmbrace the VEG Way and be excited to share your perspective and experienceAbility to recognize and celebrate other VEGgies' successes when you see itEagerness to grow as a sonographer through skills and knowledge developmentDesire to travel to regional hospitals and off‑site training facilities (e.G., Fort Collins, CO; Las Vegas,
