The candidate will play a key role within a multidisciplinary team supporting young people involved in the justice system.

The candidate will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and treatment services, including individual, group, and family counseling.

The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary approach to strengthen community capacity to plan and support challenging youth closer to home.

The candidate will be responsible for promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion by addressing the unique needs of each young person.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or a comparable Master’s-level graduate degree in a similar subject.

The candidate must seek and obtain clinical registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW) within six (6) months of completing the required 3,000 hours of supervised clinical practice, if they have successfully completed an MSW.





The candidate will be required to provide confirmation that any degree obtained outside of Canada has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Service and submit a basic report by the closing date of the posting to be considered.

The candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience working in an adolescent mental health environment and providing a wide range of outpatient-oriented assessment and treatment services.

The candidate must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with no restrictions or an equivalent licence from another Canadian province.

Preference may be given to candidates with two (2) years or more of relevant clinical experience working within an adolescent mental health environment and providing a wide range of outpatient-oriented assessment and treatment services.

Preference may be given to candidates with recent experience working in a forensic setting or with a forensic population.

Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) and possess the required combination of education and experience.

The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.

The candidate will be required to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and a Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA).

The candidate may be eligible for adaptable work arrangements, including up to one (1) day of work from home per week, subject to telework agreement approval.
