The successful candidate will lead the analysis of cost estimates and preparation of Mechanical work take-offs on mechanical projects. They will provide technical support to project operations, with emphasis on Plumbing estimating and support project changes.Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Prepares Mechanical work take-offs and estimates on projects including costs of materials, labour and equipment required for projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications with a focus on ICI PlumbingAdvises on tendering procedures; examines and analyzes tenders, recommends tender awards and conducts negotiationsEstablishes and maintains tendering process, sets up cost monitoring, reporting systems and proceduresCoordinates price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers and architects regarding tendersParticipates in site review, tender review, tender hand-off, and project closing, as requiredPrepares and maintains a directory of suppliers,

accurate and detail orientedAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawingsStrong knowledge of Ontario Building Code, specialization in plumbing code is considered an asset.Proficient user of estimating software (such as AutoBid)Knowledge of related local union collective agreementsProficiency in Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project)Knowledge of construction software (such as Procore)Knowledge of construction contract law (CCDC and other typical contract types.)Valid Ontario G class driver’s licenseWillingness to drive within the local Southwest Ontario area for site reviews, typically 1-2 days per weekThe expected salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $100,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package.
