The Salary Range is our Hiring Range which is commensurate with experienceEmployment Status: Contract Full timeType of Position: NewLocation: HybridNumber of Vacancies: 1Position SummaryResponsible for developing and implementing communication strategies and plans that help achieve the College’s Strategic Plan and contribute to the success of the college programs and initiatives. This includes acting as a lead communications resource or support for large mission‑critical projects from conception to completion with measurable objectives that include strategies for both issues and change management. Also responsible for the development and implementation of a social media strategy to engage with key audiences. This is a contact position that will end on December 31, 2026.What you’ll do at OCPCollaborate with subject matter experts across the College to develop effective, measurable strategies to support internal and external communications and change management for key initiatives and projectsSupport virtual or in‑person engagement opportunities, such as town halls, focus groups and webinars, to help strengthen important OCP relationshipsLead the development of a social media strategy to engage with key audiencesProvide communications support for emerging issues, including key message development, FAQs, and media/social media monitoringBuild and maintain strong working relationships with staff at all levels of the College, and provide timely, expert communication counsel that meets the needs of the College and its various audiencesUse demonstrated problem‑solving and critical thinking skills to develop innovative solutions to communication challenges and opportunitiesTranslate complex legal or regulatory jargon into clear, understandable language for registrants and members of the publicConduct research and environmental scans as necessary to inform communication planningWrite clear, accurate and compelling content for a variety of channels that reflects OCP’s style and brand voiceContinually track, analyze,
and report on the results of communications initiatives and glean key learnings/ insights including making recommendations from analysis for ongoing process and performance improvement of the Communications functionProvide detailed analysis of data points to identify trends or opportunities for enhancing OCP communication activitiesDevelop branded graphic assets including infographics, images, animations and videoSupport routine content distribution through digital newsletters, website, social media, blog and e-blastsOther reasonable duties as assigned by Manager, CommunicationsWhat we’re looking forExceptional writing and editing skills and ability to draft explicit, professional, and compelling communicationsExperience in managing communications projects with multiple partners and shifting priorities and providing communications leadership on organizational key initiatives as assigned by the Communications ManagerExperience in providing internal communications advice and leading the development of communications plans and strategiesExperience in providing feedback to and working with colleagues and external vendors to develop communications productsAbility to take complex ideas and create clear and compelling content, particularly when translating policy‑ and practice‑focused content into meaningful messaging and information that can be used by registrants, system partners and members of the publicDemonstrated ability to build trust and relationships with internal and external partners and work collaboratively to achieve broad organizational goalsExperience writing for electronic media such as websites, e‑newsletters, social media, videos,
and online learning applicationsExperience managing multimedia/ digital projects with multiple system partners and shifting prioritiesExperience managing social media channels for an organization and developing and managing social media content for those channelsExperience developing and implementing paid social media campaigns, with some experience and knowledge in SEO/ SEM and online copywritingStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsSelf‑motivation and strong organizational and project management skills to efficiently and effectively manage workload, deal effectively with multiple demands, and maintain composure while progressing toward desired outcomesProficient with Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrated proficiency with contemporary online tools, applications, and multimedia platforms, including content management systems, and tools/ software relating to email marketing and social mediaWhat experience we preferEducationUniversity Degree in a related field such as Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, Health Communications or equivalentWork ExperienceMust have 5‑7 years of related experienceWhy work for us?We are the registering and regulating body for the profession of pharmacy practice in Ontario with a mandate to serve and protect the public interest.
