Preference through this opportunity will be given to candidates who have completed or are currently enrolled in the Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course facilitated by the de Souza Institute.Position OverviewThe Oncology Nurse will be involved in all aspects of the oncology and medical day care program including, but not limited to: patient/family assessment, administering & teaching chemotherapy/biotherapy, medical day care activities, providing supportive and palliative care, participation in the development & implementation of patient treatment plans, quality improvement processes, and facilitation of referrals and research activities.QualificationsCurrent registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in valuable standingBScN or related degreeCompletion of the de Souza Institute Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course (mandatory)Completion of de Souza Institute Foundations in Oncology Nursing course (mandatory)Certificate in Oncology Nursing CON(C) an assetCurrent BCLS certification; ACLS preferredExperience with medical day care procedures including but not limited to paracentesis, thoracentesis, phlebotomy, IVIG, blood transfusionsExperience with intravenous insertion,
