Join Vancouver Island Health Authority as a Youth and Family Addiction Counsellor, supporting youth through their substance use challenges. This full time temporary position emphasizes assessments, intervention, and family support across various locations. You will work directly with youth and their caregivers to provide tailored interventions and educational resources for those facing addiction challenges.

Your experience in counselling, particularly focused on youth, will enable you to instill positive change and assist clients in developing effective strategies that address their substance use. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team is critical for success in this role. Key Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive assessments and consultations for youth




Implement strength-based treatment methodologies
Guide youth in setting and achieving personal goals
Collaborate with families in developing support plans
Participate in clinical supervision and team meetings

Requirements:
Degree in health or human services
Two years of direct youth counselling experience
Familiarity with motivational interviewing and CBT
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Must be able to travel as required
