Mega Rebar, a rebar fabricator and distributor situated in Maple Ridge, is actively seeking a motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Health and Safety Representative. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that offers competitive compensation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable handling a variety of safety and administrative tasks for all departments across the facility while supporting multiple team members.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote a positive health and safety culture
Participate in regular workplace inspections and help identify corrective actions
Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and other safety initiatives
Maintain health and safety records and documentation
Participate in the development and review of health and safety policies and procedures
Support compliance with WorkSafeBC requirements, the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, and company safety policies
Provide general administrative and clerical support
Maintain filing systems (physical and digital)
Data entry
Carry out other administrative and safety-related duties as required
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of the BC Occupational Health and Safety Act
Robust background in developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety programs. I.E. Safe Work Procedures, Safety Orientations, On-Site Risk Assessments, etc.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise valuable judgment
Intermediate proficiency with Office 365
Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
Robust organizational skills
Ability to multitask and balance priorities
Strong oral & written communication skills
Team oriented
Quick learner
Assets:
Previous experience in a construction, manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial workplace is an asset
Previous experience as a Health & Safety Representative or Joint Health & Safety Committee member is an asset
