We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) for contract opportunity in Northern, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP with solid clinical experience who is comfortable working in a hospital setting and caring for ALC (Alternate Level of Care) and rehabilitation patients. Candidates with solid inpatient RN experience and LTC experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients within scope of practice.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
Develop and implement appropriate treatment and care plans.
Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other investigations.
Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice.
Provide ongoing care and management for ALC and rehabilitation patients.
Recognize and manage patients with acute and complex medical conditions.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment, medications, and follow-up care.




Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using electronic health records.
Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and applicable regulatory standards.

Qualifications
Current and valid Nurse Practitioner licence
Minimum 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience
Candidates with 5+ years of recent inpatient RN experience will also be considered.
LTC experience may be considered in place of ER experience.
Experience caring for ALC and rehabilitation patients is an asset.
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work effectively in a hospital environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Current BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
