Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our optical team. The ideal candidate will assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, provide exceptional customer service, and support the overall operations of the optical department. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for eye care, retail sales, and helping clients improve their vision. Prior experience in optical or retail environments is preferred, along with robust communication skills and a professional demeanor.

Responsibilities
Assist patients in selecting frames that suit their style, needs, and prescriptions
Measure and fit eyewear accurately to ensure proper comfort and vision correction
Explain lens options, coatings, and frame features to customers to facilitate informed decisions
Take precise measurements for lens prescriptions and coordinate with laboratories for lens fabrication
Perform basic adjustments and repairs on eyewear as needed
Maintain a clean and organized optical area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and functional
Support retail sales efforts by engaging with customers, answering questions,



and promoting products
Keep detailed records of patient prescriptions, transactions, and inventory management
Collaborate with optometrists and other staff to ensure seamless patient care experience

Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is highly desirable
Robust retail sales skills with the ability to promote products confidently
Excellent communication skills to explain complex information clearly to patients
Experience with Epic or other electronic health record systems is a plus
Previous retail management experience can be advantageous for leadership opportunities
Ability to work well in a team setting while providing exceptional customer service
Attention to detail, organizational skills, and a professional appearance are essential for success in this role

Pay: $25.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38.0 per week
