Job Summary
The Food Service Counter Attendant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring food safety and quality. This position involves preparing and serving food items, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and operating point-of-sale (POS) systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a commitment to providing a positive dining experience for all customers.
Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Operate the POS system efficiently to process transactions and manage cash flow.
Maintain cleanliness of the counter area, dining space, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift.
Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
Assist in training current staff on food preparation techniques and customer service protocols.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Skills
Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred but not required.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for sanitation.
Proficient in basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
Familiarity with POS systems is a plus but can be learned on the job.
Robust attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated when necessary.
