QuadReal: Excellence lives here. www.Quadreal.ComRole DescriptionReporting to the SVP, Property Accounting and Enterprise Finance Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day activities of the property accounting team, overseeing commercial and self-storage assets, based in the Vancouver office.ResponsibilitiesLiaising with property site staff, leasing staff, management, and clients to ensure responsive service from the property accounting teamPlanning timing and accurate completion of all annual, quarterly, and monthly activities and cycles, including property month ends, annual property budgets, annual tenant operating cost adjustments, and property reportingPreparation and Maintenance of all procedural documentation relating to property accountingManage staff workloads to ensure fairness, and responsiveness to internal and external clientsProviding guidance and direction to the property accounting team; and being responsible for the team’s continuous improvement of departmental processes/proceduresEnsuring existing and new staff members receive training for systems and processes/proceduresAdministering performance evaluations; ensuring the Property Accounting team staff continue to develop and utilize new skillsAssisting in staff motivation, celebration and maintaining a positive work environmentIdentifying and analyzing issues; taking decisive action when requiredTake on special projects as delegated including process improvements and senior management requestsOther duties, as required.Education and QualificationsProfessional accounting designationMinimum of 5 to 15 years of progressive real estate accounting experience, including supervision of staff.Solid understanding of accounting principlesStrong negotiating skillsStrong organizational skills; attention to detailRelationship Skills – Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
