The Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre (FDISC) seeks an experienced Indigenous Student Counsellor to assist students in their academic and personal journeys. This position involves individual counselling, crisis intervention, and coordinating cultural events. Your presence is essential for fostering a supportive workplace that integrates cultural knowledge into academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide personal, crisis, and short-term counselling services
• Assist with academic accommodation evaluations and recommendations
• Run traditional and ceremonial events for students
• Collaborate with faculty on crisis management initiatives
• Build a support network with community services
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree with more than 5 years of experience
• Professional registration in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• Vulnerable Sector Screening and Criminal Records Check required
• Strong interpersonal skills for diverse audiences
• Commitment to Indigenous cultural values
