Position Overview Our client is seeking an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) for a flexible contract/project based engagement to support a global manufacturing leader at their facility in Calgary. This role is ideal for a skilled Millwright looking to leverage their expertise across high-priority machinery installations, facility overhauls, and specialized equipment maintenance projects. Working alongside in office teams, you will play a critical role in optimizing mechanical performance, minimizing downtime, and executing scheduled plant improvements. This position offers access to dedicated project-based work within a premier, safety-focused industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Equipment Maintenance & Overhaul: Perform mechanical troubleshooting, precision alignments, rebuilds, and preventative maintenance on complex industrial equipment, including conveyors, drive systems, pumps, and automated machinery. Project Execution: Lead and assist with the installation, positioning, assembly, and commissioning of new mechanical systems and facility upgrades. System Diagnostics: Inspect and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components to identify root causes of equipment failure and mitigate downtime.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to execute precise mechanical repairs and installations. Safety & Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to site health and safety standards, job safety analyses, and local regulatory codes. Qualifications & Requirements Certification: Journeyman or Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) ticket. Experience: Proven background in industrial manufacturing environments with demonstrated expertise in mechanical troubleshooting, machinery rigging, and precision alignment. Technical Skills: Proficiency with pneumatic systems, hydraulics, power transmission components, and automated production machinery. Work Style: Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable stepping onto active operational floors to execute project scopes with minimal supervision. Compensation: $45.00 – $55.00 / hour (Based on experience) Logistics & Schedule Based in or near the Greater Calgary Area with reliable transportation. Flexibility to take on scheduled project windows and short-term operational coverage.
