You will work closely with high-performing teams of product engineers and scientists with expertise spanning device physics to classical computer architecture and compilers. Together, you will develop, prototype, and implement key solutions for our silicon-based quantum computer architecture.

You enjoy the thrill of learning recent technology and new science while bringing your significant materials science expertise, open mind, and creativity to tackle key challenges as we build the world’s first truly scalable quantum computing system.

What we need you to do:
Develop and execute procedures for measuring optical and spin coherence for qubits in silicon
Design, test, and deploy new materials processing techniques to improve qubit performance
Work closely with the Photonic nanofabrication team to integrate novel processing techniques into process flows
Refine qubit fabrication procedures through measurement and feedback to fabrication teams

Assist the Photonic nanofabrication team with materials processing
Examine the effects of qubit performance on quantum algorithms
Write patents and peer-reviewed articles reporting advances where applicable
Identify and build collaborations with outside organizations (government labs, academic groups, partners)
Train, guide, and develop current and new team members

What you bring to our team:
Masters or PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Applied Physics, or related field
5 years of experience in the field of quantum computing and/or engineering
Experience working at the interface of condensed matter physics and quantum science
Experience performing optical measurements at cryogenic temperatures
Some experience working in a nanofabrication cleanroom
