Role Summary
OOTB Art Studio is seeking a passionate and reliable Ceramics Instructor to lead beginner-friendly wheel throwing and handbuilding classes. The ideal candidate enjoys teaching, creating a welcoming environment, and helping students build confidence in ceramics while maintaining studio standards and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Teach wheel throwing and handbuilding classes for adults, teens, and private events.
Provide clear demonstrations and hands-on coaching.
Adapt instruction to different skill levels and learning styles.
Set up and reset workstations, tools, and materials.
Label and organize student work for drying, bisque firing, glazing, and pickup.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized studio environment.
Communicate class expectations, firing timelines, and glaze options.
Create a friendly and welcoming experience for students and guests.
Collaborate with studio leadership to improve classes and studio operations.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in wheel throwing and/or handbuilding.
Ability to teach beginners in a clear and encouraging manner.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.Reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
Evening and weekend availability preferred.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of glazing techniques and ceramic processes.
Experience with kiln loading and firing procedures.
Experience teaching youth programs, workshops, or private events.
Photography, videography, or social media content creation skills are an asset.
