The Dryden Regional Health Centre is seeking to fill the following position with highly motivated, team‑oriented professional:Temporary Full‑Time Registered Nurse - Oncology DepartmentReporting to the Director- Pharmacy, Oncology & Professional Practice, the Oncology Registered Nurse plays a key role in the assessment, treatment, and follow‑up care of patients receiving systemic therapy for cancer. The successful candidate will support protected, evidence‑based, compassionate care throughout the treatment trajectory, while contributing to a collaborative and patient‑centered Oncology program.ResponsibilitiesProvides safe, comprehensive nursing care to Oncology patients receiving systemic therapy, including ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of careCompletes and documents health assessments at the onset of systemic therapy and throughout the treatment trajectoryAdministers chemotherapy/biotherapy and supportive treatments in accordance with hospital policies and standards (DeSouza trained RN required)Monitors for, identifies, and responds to treatment‑related symptoms, side effects, and adverse events in collaboration with the interprofessional teamProvides patient and family education to support informed decision‑making, self‑management, and continuity of carePromotes a multidisciplinary, patient‑centred approach and communicates effectively with internal teams and regional/community partnersSupports patient safety through medication order verification, independent double checks, and safe handling of hazardous drugs (PPE, spill management, disposal)Participates in quality improvement initiatives, workload/statistics reporting, and orientation/preceptorship support as requiredOther duties as assignedQualificationsCurrent Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)Minimum of three (3)



years current nursing experience (oncology preferred)Experience in Chemotherapy administration preferredMust currently have DeSouza Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Course and must recertify every two (2) yearsOncology Certification preferredCurrent B.L.S.Certification in Intravenous TherapySkills in Central Venous Line CareDemonstration of strong nursing practice, skill and judgementMust possess good assessment skills and be capable of working independentlyDemonstrated critical thinking and leadership skillsMust possess excellent interpersonal skills and compassionDemonstrates behaviours consistent with Dryden Regional Health Centre's Code of Conduct and Standards of BehaviourProven attendance recordAble to perform the essential duties of the jobDemonstrates DRHC Core Values: Accountability, Integrity, Humility, Compassion and RespectMust provide Immunizations Record including COVID‑19 vaccinationThis is a Monday‑Friday, temporary full‑time unionised position through December 2027.
