They are looking for a partner and true advisor with whom they can build a strong relationship and create unimaginable value.At Stawowski McGill, we have built a strong culture where core values of Humility, Relationships, Collaboration and Commitment are practiced and honoured every day.Our mission is to have incredible impact on our clients’ businesses, their path to success, their lives and those of their families.THE ROLEResponsibilities:You will be exposed to many types of businesses in various industries on an extremely deep levelYou will work with advisors and other team members to understand business drivers and key informationYou will assist and participate in strategic planning day sessions for new and existing clientsYou will analyze monthly client financial results using firm generated financial analysis models and toolsYou will learn to build and update financial modelsYou will review monthly client models for anomalies and identify financial issuesYou will meet with clients monthly to review current financial results and update forecastsYou will prepare financial forecast packages and files for financing initiativesYou will support the controller/bookkeeper within our clients’ businesses as required when they have questions, as well as helping them make their month-end processes more stream-lined and robustYour progression will move you towards assisting,
advising and directing the owners of private business in making the right financial and strategic decisions which will enhance growth of their businessYou will pursue and participate in learning opportunitiesBegin to develop professional networkQualifications:Industry experience in an accounting role (controller or senior accountant) with full-cycle accounting is requiredFinal stages or completed CPAStrong working knowledge of ExcelCreative ability to conceptualize and articulate new approaches and solutionsStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills as you will be dealing with many different types of people and personalitiesAbility to manage numerous clients to which you will assist on a monthly basisAbility to listen to your clients and their actual and/or perceived needs, and only then begin to construct possible solutionsDemonstrate knowledge and ability to read and understand financial data, previous experience with building financial models/analysisStrong analytical and forecasting skills as you will be required to continuously analyze your clients’ businesses each month and assist in devising go-forward strategiesExperience and knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks/QBO, Sage and other ERP systemsAn entrepreneurial spiritA passion to learn and teachA passion for businessWORKING WITH USYou will get to work with many great people who are, and continue to be, significant contributors within our community through the very important work they do.
