Job Purpose
Collect and dump refuse or recyclable materials from containers into trucks

Tasks
Operate automated or semi-automated hoisting devices that raise refuse bins and dump contents into openings in truck bodies.
Operate equipment that compresses collected refuse.
Dump refuse or recyclable materials at disposal sites.
Dismount garbage trucks to collect garbage and remount trucks to ride to the next collection point.
Tag garbage or recycling containers to inform customers of problems, such as excess garbage or inclusion of items that are not permitted.
Sort items set out for recycling and throw materials into designated truck compartments.

Requirements
To be able to stand for long hours.
To stoop and bend with ease
To be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
To be able to step up into a truck repeatedly
To work in an workplace that often smells musty, putrid, or rancid
To potentially work in an workplace that has seasonally high heat or low temperatures due to being outdoors
To potentially work in an setting that has wet or humid conditions due to be being outdoors
To work near moving mechanical parts

Qualifications
Must be able to PASS DRUG SCREEN
Must have a VALID Drivers License
