Legal Assistant – Accident Benefits (AB)

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established plaintiff-side personal injury law firm, is seeking a Legal Assistant to support a busy Accident Benefits (AB) practice. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented legal qualified who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with lawyers, clerks, clients, insurers, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative and file management support on Accident Benefits (AB) files.
Prepare, draft, revise, and organize correspondence, legal documents, and forms.
Manage lawyer calendars, appointments, examinations, mediations, and LAT-related deadlines.
Open, maintain, and organize electronic and physical client files.
Communicate with clients, insurers, treatment providers, experts, and opposing counsel.
Request, track, and organize medical records, treatment plans, insurer responses, and supporting documentation.
Assist with the preparation of hearing materials, briefs, and document productions.
Monitor limitation periods, diarize key dates, and ensure deadlines are met.




Handle client intake and provide ongoing support throughout the life of a file.
Perform general administrative duties to support a busy legal team.

Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in personal injury law.
Experience working on Accident Benefits (AB) files is required.
Familiarity with LAT procedures and Ontario accident benefits claims is considered a strong asset.
Solid organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software.
Professional, client-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
