- The candidate will play a key role within a multidisciplinary team supporting young people involved in the justice system.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and treatment services, including individual, group, and family counseling.
- The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary approach to strengthen community capacity to plan and support challenging youth closer to home.
- The candidate will be responsible for promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion by addressing the unique needs of each young person.

Job Requirements

- The successful candidate must hold a Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or a comparable Master’s-level graduate degree in a similar subject.
- The candidate will be required to seek and obtain registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers within six (6) months of employment if they hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.




- The candidate will be required to provide confirmation that any degree obtained outside of Canada has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Service and submit a basic report by the closing date of the posting to be considered.
- The candidate must have a minimum of one year of full-time equivalent experience working with children, youth, and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services.
- The candidate must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with no restrictions or an equivalent licence from another Canadian province.
- Preference may be given to applicants with two (2) or more years of experience working with children, youth, and their families while providing a wide range of community-based mental health services.
- Preference may be given to applicants with recent experience working in a forensic setting or with a forensic population.
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience working in a psychiatric or mental health unit.
- Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) and possess the required combination of education and experience.
- The candidate must be located in British Columbia at the time of employment.

- The candidate will be required to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and a Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA).
