Join the Esquimalt Recreation Centre as an Out of School Care Leader, where leadership meets community engagement. This auxiliary role involves supervising programs and activities for children while ensuring their safety.
The Esquimalt Recreation Department is looking for a vibrant individual to fulfill auxiliary shifts primarily between 6:30-9:15 am and 2:00-6:00 pm. You'll create a fun, inclusive experience by guiding activities from games to crafts and ensuring children’s needs are met—including behavior management and health care. This position helps nurture growth through interactive play and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee snack provision and supervision during sessions
• Walk children safely to and from designated locations
• Lead diverse activities: gym games,
crafts, swimming, skating
• Ensure effective behavior management and communication with parents
• Administer First Aid and medications as needed
Requirements:
• Must be at least 19 years old
• Completion of 20 hours in child development training
• Up-to-date First Aid and CPR C Certification
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive setting
