About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Engineer with a specialization in Extractive Metallurgy to join their operational team in Kimberley. This role is critical for optimizing the recovery of valuable minerals from ore, ensuring efficient and sustainable processing operations. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of metallurgical processes, focusing on maximizing yield and minimizing environmental impact. This position offers a challenging opportunity to contribute significantly to the mining sector, working with diverse ore bodies and advanced processing technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and optimize metallurgical processes for mineral extraction, including comminution, flotation, leaching, and refining.
- Conduct pilot plant testing and feasibility studies for new metallurgical processes and technologies.
- Analyze metallurgical accounting data to monitor plant performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot operational issues related to plant equipment, chemical reagents, and process parameters.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety,



and environmental regulations related to metallurgical operations.
- Collaborate with geologists, mine planners, and operations teams to optimize the entire value chain from ore body to final product.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in extractive metallurgy, preferably in the diamond or precious metals industry.
- Strong knowledge of mineral processing techniques, thermodynamics, and chemical kinetics.
- Experience with metallurgical simulation software and data analysis tools is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to manage projects and lead technical teams in a mining workplace .
