Shape Canada’s cutting-edge ships with Irving Shipbuilding as a Production Engineer-in-Training. This full-time position focuses on creating Manufacturing Instructions and enhancing ship construction processes.
In this role, you will develop detailed MIs for complex installation activities and ensure accuracy in production drawings. Collaborating with various stakeholders, you will design jigs and fixtures, conduct engineering test programs, and identify continuous improvement opportunities. Your creativity and technical expertise will drive better shipbuilding solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop Manufacturing Instructions for the River-Class Destroyer Program
Review and approve Vendor Furnished Information thoroughly
Assess Production Drawings for accuracy and constructability




Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Planning and Engineering
Identify and manage Engineering Discipline risks proactively
Requirements:
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent, EIT eligible
Basic understanding of shipbuilding production processes
Proficiency in AutoCad and MS Office Suite
Robust ability to read blueprints and technical specifications
Interest in contemporary ship design and construction methods
Contribute creative solutions and high-quality production engineering to Irving Shipbuilding’s projects.
