Summary of Position: The Retail Assistant Manager works very closely with the Store Manager to ensure the day-to-day operation of the retail department runs efficiently and smoothly. In the absence of the Manager, the Assistant Manager is the person in charge of the department but could also be responsible for overseeing the operation of the ice cream department if needed. This person is an asset to the management team, and acts as a liaison between staff and the manager. The Assistant Manager is very knowledgeable about COWS? products, policies and procedures and strives to uphold COWS?s values for creating a fun, respective and productive work environment.

Duties

Lead by example in demonstrating excellent customer service by greeting and serving all customers using COW WOW standards

Develop and implement task rotation schedules and direct the team in accomplishing daily tasks

Motivate the team to perform at their best and monitor that all team members are constructively contributing towards achieving the department?s goals

Assist the manager in recruiting staff and oversee current hire training

Ensure that task rotation systems are implemented where stock outs are promptly addressed and the store is always merchandised in a neat and orderly manner

Control inventory by ensuring COWS policies are followed, and assist the manager is completing inventory checks and counts

Ensure that health and safety regulations are followed, ensure inspection forms are completed, and that proper records are maintained

Handle cash, make change,



and accurately processing transactions using the POS system

Ensure that stock orders are received into the POS system accurately

Prepare end-of-day cash reconciliations and bank deposits

Maintain the fresh clean atmosphere of the store

Ensure proper procedures are followed and uphold company policies

Resolve complaints or solve problems efficiently

Other duties to secure the overall operation and success of the store

Physical Requirements

Bending, lifting up to 30 lbs.

Standing outside for the duration of the shift
