The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

The candidate will be responsible for recommending proper HVAC design, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining accurate documentation on all building systems.

The candidate will be responsible for investigating building comfort complaints and instructing clients on ways to improve comfort levels.

The candidate will work with clients and consultants to increase energy efficiency and reduce GHG consumption.

The candidate will operate, monitor, and troubleshoot building automation control systems.

The candidate must design and implement a preventive maintenance program aligned with the Asset Management Program.

The candidate must plan and carry out preventive maintenance on building mechanical systems including parts sourcing, replacement, lubrication, cleaning, inspection, and adjustment.

The candidate must coordinate preventive maintenance schedules and activities including inspecting and overseeing the work of contractors.





The candidate will prepare cost estimates and purchase requisitions, provide input on annual budget development, and recommend equipment replacement priorities.

The candidate must participate in industry-specific training to stay updated on the latest technologies.

The candidate must respond to emergency calls when required.

Job Requirements

The candidate must hold trades certification as a Refrigeration Mechanic and Gasfitter (Class B).

The candidate must possess a valid BC Driver’s Licence (Class 5).

The candidate must have relevant HVAC or mechanical systems maintenance experience.

The candidate must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in mechanical system diagnostics.

The candidate must have strong attention to detail in maintenance and documentation work.

The candidate must show initiative and the ability to work independently.

The candidate must demonstrate project management and planning abilities.

The candidate must be computer literate and capable of using facility management systems.

The candidate must be service-oriented and able to communicate effectively with clients and contractors.
