Purpose: TheProgramManager leads the full lifecycle of both sports and recreation programs across all seasons and age groups for the Sports & Recreation Unit. This role serves as the primary liaison for Minor Sports associations, community recreation partners, and seasonal outdoor programming. The Sports & RecProgramManager is accountable for participation, revenue, and community satisfaction across sports and recreation.
Roles & Responsibilities : Manages Sports and Recreation Program Operations Develops, implements, and oversees sports and recreation programs and seasonal activities to meet community needs. Prepares and manages program budgets, including grant funding, registration revenue, and program expenditures.
Reviews and authorizes program-related purchases and invoicesin accordance withestablished financial procedures.
Monitors program expenditures andidentifiesbudget variances, providing recommendations asrequired.
Managesassociation feeschedules, program registrations, and related financial records.
Coordinates facility and program logistics Works with GM to help coordinateeventlogistics, including setup, teardown, timing, equipment, and supplies.
Works withtheGeneralManager of Facilitiesongroundspreparation and facility conditions.
Assistsin the planning and coordination of community events,tournamentsand seasonal activities.
Oversees and coordinates community service program within the Sportsand Recreation Unit.
Builds Community Partnerships and Stakeholder Relationships Serves as the primary liaison with Minor Sports associations, community organizations, participants, and other stakeholders.
Responds to inquiries andcommunicatesprogram information, updates, and changes to participants and the community.
Representsthe Sports and Recreation Unit at meetings, community events, and partnership initiatives.
Develops andmaintainspositive working relationships with community partners to enhance recreation opportunities.
Promotes Safe and Effective Program Delivery Ensures sports and recreation programs are delivered in a safe manner andin accordance withorganizational policies and applicable legislation.
Coordinates participant registrations, waivers, emergency contact information, and incident reporting.
Assistsinidentifyingand mitigating risks associated with programs, facilities, andspecial events.
Ensures staff and volunteers receiveappropriate orientationandrequiredsafety training.
Promotes safe practices for participants, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
Education & Experience : DEC inCommunity, Recreation and Leadership Trainingor a Related Field, plus three (3)yearsrelevant experience.
OR
High School Diploma, plus five (5)yearsrelevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities : Knowledge of allKahnawà:keSRU programs and services.
Knowledge of MCK policies, programs,administration,
and operational procedures.
Knowledge of the structure and policies of federal, provincial, and Aboriginal organizations.
Knowledge of strategic and operational planning

Ability to communicate in theKanien’kéhaand French languages is an asset.
The willingness to learn theKanien’kéhalanguage.
Working Environment : Five-day work week is performed in an office environment.
Moderate stress due to workload.
