The City of Kelowna is seeking a dedicated Pipelayer I for a full-time position in Kelowna, BC. Ideal candidates will have solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work under varying conditions.
This role requires the candidate to install, repair, and maintain water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. Successful applicants will need to interpret blueprints and manage emergency callouts for pipe bursts. Previous pipelaying or utility construction experience is essential to ensure project efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and repair water and sewer pipe systems
• Interpret blueprints and survey plans for accuracy
• Respond to emergency callouts for pipe bursts
• Operate maintenance equipment like trucks and tools
• Conduct hand-shoveling to locate utilities as needed
Requirements:
• Completed high school education or equivalent
• EOCP Wastewater Collection Level I certification
• EOCP Water Distribution Level I certification
• Valid BC Driver’s Licence (Class 5)
• Relevant experience in pipelaying or utility work
