Alexis Elementary & Chief Aranazhi School Position: Substitute Position Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation School is looking for an energetic Teacher who will be facilitating learning for school ages 5-17.
Our student population is approximately 210 from K to 12, our Native language is Nakota (Stoney) and we are located 100 kilometers northwest of the City of Edmonton, 30 minutes from the City of Spruce Grove. The successful applicant will begin duties at the commencement of the 2024-2025 school year; a competitive salary based on qualification, skill and experience will be paid.
Qualifications: Must be able to provide a TQS
Must be able to obtain Teaching Certification in Alberta
Qualified newly graduating individuals will be considered.
Must possess a Bachelors of Education degree from an accredited institution;




Demonstrated ability to develop a school culture of collaboration, innovation, and inquiry;
Must be able to carry out all duties and responsibilities normally required of teaching staff.
Must be respectful of Nakota Sioux Traditions, Knowledge and Customs;
Preference is given to those with experience working with First Nations Children and Families;
Must have a transparent criminal record and child-welfare check and Vulnerable Sector check.
