CHEO is seeking a Respite Worker to join its multidisciplinary team dedicated to pediatric health. This role focuses on providing care for children and youth with developmental disabilities and complex behaviours. You will assist with physical care needs and program activities to encourage positive behaviours and reach established goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing and implementing program activities
• Provide necessary physical care for the assigned client
• Maintain program rules and boundaries for clients
• Support management of challenging behaviours with guidance
• Communicate effectively with staff, clients, and families
Requirements:
• Two-year Diploma in Developmental Service Worker
• 1-year experience with children and youth with disabilities
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C Level C
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
