This role offers a mix of hands-on accounting work, client interaction, and exposure to a variety of engagements, making it ideal for someone looking to build on their public accounting experience in a collaborative environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare year-end compilation engagements and support review and audit engagementsPerform bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clientsPrepare and file GST/HST and other sales tax returnsManage multiple engagements, tracking deadlines and outstanding client informationCommunicate with clients to obtain required documentation and resolve discrepanciesQualifications & SkillsUniversity degree or college diploma in Accounting or related fieldCPA designation is an asset; must be eligible or actively pursuing2+ years of experience in a public accounting firmStrong proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail with solid analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExperience with CaseWare, Taxprep, QuickBooks (Online/Desktop), and CCH iFirm is an assetBilingualism (English/French) is considered an assetAbout the OpportunityOur client is a well-established accounting firm based in Ottawa, offering a full suite of services including tax advisory, estate planning, audit and assurance, bookkeeping, and payroll support.
