We’re Hiring: Avionics Design and Airworthiness Engineer – Permanent – Kelowna, BC
We are looking for an experienced Avionics Design and Airworthiness Engineer to join a Design Approval Organization (DAO) in Kelowna, BC.
This is a technical role supporting avionics design, integration, and certification across multiple aircraft modification and STC programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead avionics system design and integration for STC programs
Develop and review wiring diagrams, EWIS analyses, installation drawings, and equipment interfaces
Lead certification and compliance activities, including DO-160, EMI/EMC, system safety, and ELA
Prepare ICA, Flight Manual Supplements, certification plans, and compliance documentation
Support aircraft surveys, installations, ground testing, and flight test campaigns
Manage avionics STC expansions and amendments across multiple aircraft platforms
Ensure compliance with TCCA, FAA, and EASA requirements
Interface with DAO delegates and Transport Canada
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering and certification teams
Qualifications:
Engineering degree or equivalent relevant industry experience
5+ years of aerospace experience involving aircraft modification projects
Robust knowledge of avionics and electrical systems
Experience with TCCA, FAA, and/or EASA regulationsAbility to produce complete avionics design and airworthiness documentation packages
Strong understanding of project and product lifecycles
Transport Canada delegation eligibility is an asset
P.Eng registration or eligibility with EGBC is an asset
