Position Summary
The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse and distribution operations to ensure exceptional customer service, support sales growth, and maximize operational productivity. This role oversees receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, transportation coordination, and workforce management while maintaining a safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation. The Distribution Center Manager drives continuous improvement initiatives, develops high-performing teams, and ensures operational performance aligns with company objectives.
What you will do:
Create a motivational work environment to promote top performance of associates
Promote protected work practices and resolve all safety concerns as identified
Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment
Communicate performance standards and coach associates in assigned duties
Manage shift activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy of service
Measure, record, and report individual and team performance against standards
Provide regular feedback to associates on task performance
Participate in meetings of the Joint Health & Safety Committee to coordinate safety initiatives
Maintaining a clean work area and free of all safety hazards at all time
Lead pre-shift meetings, safety talks, and warm-up routines as directed
Take leadership in directing, correcting, and recognizing associates on a regular basis
Actively involved Process Improvement
Oversee accident investigation in the event of associate injury or product damage and ensure proper documentation with the associates is being completed
Complete associate counseling and performance appraisals as required
Ensure associates are being trained in job duties and are being provided with updates on any changes
Oversee payroll process to ensure all associates are being paid accurately
Completing all necessary reports in a timely and accurate manner
Perform departmental duties, leading by example in daily performance and conduct
Collaborate with commercial teams to identify service opportunities that enhance customer loyalty and sales performance.
Partner with Sales and Branch Operations teams to ensure product availability and rapid response to customer demand.
Ensure accurate, complete, and on-time order fulfillment to meet customer expectations.
Lead initiatives that improve customer satisfaction, order accuracy, and delivery performance.
Collaborate with Customer Service teams to resolve escalations and service issues promptly.
Monitor service-level KPIs and implement corrective actions when targets are not met
Foster a customer-first culture throughout the distribution center.
Support business continuity plans to maintain service during disruptions.
Develop and monitor productivity metrics for individuals, teams, and operational processes.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and cost control.
Optimize labor planning and scheduling to meet operational requirements.
Experience and Skills:
5–10 years of progressive warehouse, distribution, or logistics management experience.
Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing supervisors and frontline teams.
Experience leading customer-focused distribution operations.
Demonstrated success improving service, productivity, and operational performance.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Customer-centric mindset.
Business and sales acumen.
Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Inventory management expertise.
Continuous improvement and Lean principles knowledge.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and productivity reporting.
Possess communication skills including active listening, public speaking, written documentation, verbal instruction, training and development
Proficient operating knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Human relations skills and problem-solving abilities
Previous experience managing under a collective agreement
Ability to foster and develop teamwork with associates
Excellent organizational skills
Completion of a college or university program in business administration, industrial engineering or in a discipline related to supply chain logistics; or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.

Posting Range: $120,000 to $140,000 + 20% Bonus
