Job Title: Construction Labourer Job Description
The Construction Labourer supports a wide range of tasks on active construction sites, including concrete work, chipping, hammering, forming, stripping, and other manual labour activities as needed to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Perform general construction labour tasks as directed, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials around the site.
Carry out concrete-related work such as chipping, forming, stripping, jackhammering, and manual finishing tasks.
Use basic hand and power tools safely and effectively for construction activities.
Assist with carpentry-related tasks, including working with formwork and other structural elements.
Support concrete finishing activities, ensuring surfaces are prepared and finished to required standards.
Handle rebar and participate in process work related to concrete structures and assemblies.
Assist with pipe and valve work as required on the project.
Work in and around water treatment facilities when needed, following site-specific procedures and safety requirements.
Perform duties at heights and within formwork concrete areas while adhering strictly to safety protocols.
Collaborate with a team of 10-20 workers, communicating clearly and following instructions from site supervisors.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, promptly reporting any hazards or incidents.
Follow all health and safety guidelines and participate in a safety-focused culture on site.
Essential Skills
At least 2 years of construction labour experience.
Hands-on experience with basic hand tools and power tools in a construction environment.
Concrete experience in one or more of the following: chipping, forming, stripping, jackhammering, or manual labour related to concrete work.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working on feet for extended periods.
Capability to work at heights and within formwork concrete areas while following safety procedures.
Solid awareness of health and safety practices on construction sites.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team of 10-20 workers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with concrete forming for structural and non-structural elements.
Background in carpentry tasks related to construction projects.
Concrete finishing experience, including preparing and finishing surfaces.
Experience working with rebar and process work associated with concrete structures.
Experience performing pipe and valve work in an industrial or construction setting.
Previous experience in a water treatment facility environment.
Comfort working in suburban and rural community areas.

Work Environment

The culture strongly emphasizes health and safety, with procedures and practices designed to protect all workers on site.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saugeen Shores, ON.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.15/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors,
including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
