About the Role Our client is looking for a dedicated Family Support Counselor to provide essential services to families in the Kimberley region. This role focuses on strengthening family relationships, addressing challenges, and promoting well-being through counseling and support services within the Northern Cape . You will work directly with families, creating a safe and supportive environment for them to navigate difficulties and build resilience. This position requires empathy, strong therapeutic skills, and a commitment to fostering healthier family dynamics through dedicated in-person engagement.
Key Responsibilities Provide individual, couples, and family counseling sessions.
Assess family needs and develop tailored intervention strategies.
Offer support and guidance on parenting skills, conflict resolution, and communication.
Facilitate group sessions for parents or families facing similar challenges.
Connect families with relevant community resources and support networks.
Maintain confidential client records and document progress accurately.
Requirements Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
Registered or eligible for registration with the relevant professional board.
Proven experience in family counseling and intervention.
Strong understanding of family systems theory and child development.
Excellent active listening, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse families.
