Dufferin Child and Family Services seeks a Peer Support Worker for the Mobile Counselling Van. Use your lived experience to assist youth aged 12-25 in navigating mental health challenges.
In this full time role, you will work with youth in a flexible schedule to foster connections and reduce stigma. This position emphasizes engagement with Black and Indigenous youth facing unique challenges. Your contributions will aid in delivering integrated care within Dufferin County.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one emotional and practical support for youth
• Facilitate peer-led groups to foster community connections
• Assist youth in accessing vital social and health services
• Engage youth in planning and evaluating Hub services
• Connect with community organizations for outreach initiatives
Requirements:
• Degree or Diploma in relevant field
• 2+ years of experience in youth peer support
• Strong communication skills to build trust and relationships
• Valid driver’s license and comfort in driving large vehicles
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
